Registration Information

This is the process for registering for the conference:

1) Choose a conference package on this page. If you do not have a login on this website already you will be asked to complete a User Account form. Click the 'Register' button. Then hang back for a bit.
2) The website notifies the conference organisers, PeopleSA, who then send you a form by e-mail.
3) You fill in the form and send it back asap. It specifies your choices for accommodation, gala dinner, etc. that could not be captured on this website.
4) PeopleSA then send you an invoice for registration, accommodation (if you choose from their offerings), gala dinner, etc. with a reference code.
5) You then proceed to pay. If by credit card, then here, where you will be asked for the reference code on your invoice.

The "+workshops" packages are a full five days and include three activities, be they workshops or technical visits. All other packages exclude workshops, which you can pay for separately subject to availability.

ZAR = South African Rand, or just 'Rand'. It is an internationally exchangeable currency. Rates are variable but to help you understand costs in your currency these were the rates on 23 June:

Conference Fees

Full five day conference including three half-day workshops or a combination of three half-day workshops, outreach activities, technical tours, code sprints, etc..

Conference only	3900 ZAR (Closes 2008-09-15)
Register for the just the conference, no workshops or other formal activities. From the Opening plenary in the afternoon on Monday 29 September till the Closing Plenary in the afternoon of October 2.

Daily registration (1 day)	1200 ZAR (Closes 2008-09-28)
This is the day rate for attendance for ONE OF the Monday (Plenary and icebreaker) OR Tuesday OR Wednesday OR Thursday. Register now and choose which day at a later stage through correspondence.

Daily registration (2 days)	2400 ZAR (Closes 2008-09-28)
This is the day rate for attendance for TWO OF the Monday (Plenary and icebreaker) OR Tuesday OR Wednesday OR Thursday. Register now and choose which days at a later stage through correspondence.

Daily registration (3 days)	3600 ZAR (Closes 2008-09-28)
This is the day rate for attendance for THREE OF the Monday (Plenary and icebreaker) OR Tuesday OR Wednesday OR Thursday. Register now and choose which days at a later stage through correspondence.

Full discount (conference only)	0 ZAR (Closes 2008-07-31)
Workshop presenters, LOC members and other designated individuals are entitled to a full discount for the core conference. To qualify for this package you need to be on our list and have a valid code. Workshops are NOT included but can be purchased separately.

Half discount (conference only)	1950 ZAR (Closes 2008-07-31)
Lab presenters, full-time students, full-time school teachers and other designated individuals are entitled to 50% discount on the core conference. To qualify you need to be on our list and have a valid code and students and teachers will have to provide proof of their status. Workshops are NOT included but can be purchased separately.

Late registration (conference only)	4100 ZAR (Registration Opening 2008-09-16)
This price is for the conference only. If there are still workshop slots available you can pay for them at the conference centre on registration. After Sept 28 you can register on site for the full conference or per day.
